Search Strategize & Sustain- a new approach to employment.
“British Columbia’s economic health is rosy, thanks to strong employment growth” says John Clinkard, a Consulting Economist from Canadata. According to Clinkard, British Columbia’s economy created over 55,800 new jobs in the past 12 months. A high percentage of these jobs (87%) were full-time.
With this new, strong employment growth, employees with equally strong employment readiness skills, as well as job maintenance skills are an asset to both the job seeker and the employer. In response to this need, M. Magas & Associates Inc. have developed a new and innovative program created to address those very concerns.
Search, Strategize & Sustain (the 3S’s), will approach “ employment” by working with participants in a holistic manner consisting of three separate, but connected components. Each program component will focus on a specific aspect of the career development process.
“Search” (S1) explores Career Decision Making through the Implicit Career Search, a proven process for discovering and designing successful career paths.
“Strategize” (S2), is for individuals who have a clear idea of their career direction but would like assistance in sharpening their job search skills, by looking at different methods and strategies to finding the work they want. “Sustain” (S3) focuses on developing skills to increase motivation and overall success once on the job, through personal development.
The program has been designed so that participants can attend 1, 2 or all 3 components of the program- depending on the area that they would like to focus on, although it is recommended to attend all three components consecutively to obtain the maximum benefits in enhancing career success.
Each segment of the program is three weeks long, with a short break before the next segment commences. The Search Strategize & Sustain Program will be open to anyone in the community legally entitled to work in Canada with registration beginning on January 7th, free of charge. As there are limited seats available, anyone interested in exploring a new career direction, increasing their employability and job search skills, should contact The Sunshine Coast Employment Centre at 604.885.7443 for further information.
