PST / CSTS Certifications

At least two safety certifications are needed to work in the oilfields.

  • According to the Fort McMurray Labour Market http://www.woodbuffalo.net/www.woodbuffalo.net/safety.html CSTS Certification is mandatory on industrial work sites
  • CSTS Certification is available here in Sechelt.  It is part of an interactive computer program which is taken at our office location.
  • To register contact the PST Administrator (Angel Honey) by phoning 604-885-7443 or by email
  • Cost of the program is $110 plus GST
  • Average time spent in the program is 11 hours
  • Upon successful completion of the program you will receive certification which includes Basic WHMIS, PST / CSTS
  • Certification is valid for 3 years
  • CSTS stands for Construction Safety Training System.  PST stands for Petroleum Safety Training
  • The Construction and Petroleum industries have agreed to recognize each others basic safety training, so this dual certification will allow you on both construction and oilfield work sites
